Internet poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank rather than each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little concealment or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer declares "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other players attain 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or give up. The call bet’s value is akin to your original bet, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a figure on par with the original bet. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your initial bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
