Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to make it to the final table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While gambling on web poker, another side of Hansen has appeared. He regularly competes in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the ability out of deep stack poker. Gus is assumed to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players in the world might just be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be seen gambling on online poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
